Excuse me for not reading all posts previous to this, but it would take me a few hours to read through all 16+ pages.
Overall, very impressive upgrades in many areas. Not having to say "Sorry, could you say that again? I was jumping." is nice, so please don't turn up the gate jump audio as other people are recommending.
The new graphics for going into and coming out of warp, including the slight Doppler shift of light in front and back (which should actually be more than extreme at several thousands of times the speed of light achieved here), are nice. However, the sensation of acceleration and deceleration are lessened without the rumble effect. An alternative to rumble into warp could be have space appear to stretch all around the ship as it is accelerating, having planets and other objects appear to lengthen, with the effect of a camera zooming in on the ship while at the same time moving it further away. Of course, opposite effect coming out of warp.
Scanning is becoming very popular. With just a few seconds to complete a scan, the bulk of time scanning now lies in arranging probes to their appropriate positions. As I scan, I like to arrange my probes in a specific formation of 7 (center, top, bottom, front, back, left, right). It is tedious to click on each probe, move it around a bit, change camera angle, move it some more, change camera angle, get it in final position, then repeat 6 more times only to have to do that whole process again many times just to find the same site that I already found earlier. With the upwards of 20 signatures around an unknown system star, knowing which ones you have located and which ones you haven't is impossible. Please implement a system such that sites already scanned to 100% stay that way and won't return to 3.476% strength signatures on subsequent scans looking for other sites. Also, a way to move all active probes together would be helpful. The ability to save multiple probe formations for the different scan ranges and have all other probes align themselves to the selected probe based on the selected formation would be, in my mind, ideal. In addition to this, the ability to change the ranges of all active probes in one step as opposed to seven (or however many probes you have out) steps would again make probing less tedious. Hope this feedback helps. Keep up the good work.
